From hackathons to summer schools within the NanoBioTech Nexus project
On August 27, 2025, Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University (CNUVS) organized an online event to share practical experience in creating and conducting effective student events – from hackathons to summer schools – within the framework of the NanoBioTech Nexus project, funded by the EIT.
About 50 participants joined from:
• Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University (Ukraine)
• Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University (Ukraine)
• St. Kliment Ohridski in Bitola (North Macedonia)
• University of Nova Gorica (Slovenia)
Key points of the session:
Organizing effective hackathons. Finbar Carter, Student Entrepreneurship Development Manager at the University of East Anglia, shared his experience in organizing hackathons as a space for innovation, teamwork and the development of entrepreneurial thinking. He also noted examples of cross-border cooperation with KNUVS, which helps students co-create solutions to real-world challenges.
